It offers improved low temperature flow compared to SAE 90 axle oil and full protection of hypoid gears in axles or differentials in vehicles where recommended by the manufacturer. The extreme pressure additives used bond to the metals surfaces to help prevent metal to metal wear where gears teeth slide across each other. Metal surfaces are also coated with an oil layer to help prevent corrosion in wet environments and in off road equipment.
