This is a seldom seen gorgeous jug!  

Frequently Silver City, who did the sterling overlay, would stamp their items "sterling", but alas there are no makers marks on this pitcher. We know the trim was produced by Silver City, because they are the only silver application company that made the Chrysanthemum pattern.  

Jug style 3400/100 was made by Cambridge Glass from 1932 to 1948.That makes this pitcher at least 75 years old.  You can see the gentle molded drapes in the front and sides of this pitcher that identify the mold. And, it has that all-important ice lip.  It's in pristine condition free from chips, nicks, scratches, repairs ... and all the other words used to describe damage - including the applied handle! Likewise, the silver is in stellar condition. There are zero holidays in the overlay (missing silver). I did give it a light polish with foaming silver polish to brighten it up for these photos. You may wish to give it a better polish, but it's really not necessary. 

I took several photos so you can be confident of the collector's quality condition, including many with tissue paper so you can get a good look at the silver pattern.
