Product Overview

Snakes and Hawks is a card game that is fun for ages 7 and up and can be played with 2-6 players.  Game play is easy and it is very similar to a trick taking card game.  Winning the game will take strategy as players can team up with the other players and ultimately using them to their own advantage.  While Snakes and Hawks is a team game, there is only one individual winner.

Snake and Hawks is played like most trick taking card games.  Players must play the same color as the first card lead and the biggest number of that color takes the trick.  It is also similar to other four person card games where a partner can win the trick for the team.  There is a scoring method used in deciding the winner.  In this game, however, you don’t always want the tricks because the person with the lowest score is the winner and some tricks will cause players to gain points.  There are four different colors of cards in the deck and the card values range from 1-15 in value.  However, there are no 3’s or 8’s in the deck.

This is a very thrilling and different card game.  Unlike a normal deck of cards, Snakes and Hawks is played with a 60-card deck. Snakes and Hawks is played with teams, but unlike other popular trick taking games, your partner doesn’t always have to sit across from you.  Your partner can also change every time the cards are dealt.  Choosing the right partner could make the difference between winning and losing, but beware: don’t get too friendly because only one of you can win the game.  In most card games you can tell if you have a good hand right after the cards are dealt.  In Snakes and Hawks you can develop many different ways to play your hand.  This card game is won by not taking the declared snake color that the dealer chooses at the start of the hand.  Having the lowest points wins.  There are special cards in the deck that will help you do just that.  Most of all you have to be careful not to allow the other team to collect all of these special cards as their score will drop much faster than yours.  In this game, the game is over by making someone gain over 200 points or by being the first to reach negative 100.  Just make sure you are the lowest when the game ends and you win!

  • 4 Suits of 15 cards each, each suit contains 13 number cards, a snake and a hawk
  • Object of the game is to be the player with the lowest score
  • Capture Hawk cards to deduct points
  • Capture all 4 Snake cards for an extra bonus
