Iconic Lee brand "Jelt Denim" work overalls.
Labels: Lee
The company introduced the "Jelt Denim" designation in 1931. I found advertisements for Jelt Denim Overalls from 1931 through 1971. According to the company archivist, this pair is likely from the 1947 model, which was made into the 1950s.
Fiber/Care: 100% cotton denim / washable
Condition: Nearly perfect, very gently broken in, with no signs of wear except that the super-extra-long legs have been cut, leaving a raw edge (which I don't believe is original). The generous hem is turned under and tacked at a 29" inseam. You could let it down to gain up to 3.5" (up to a 32.5" inseam) keeping a small hem, or you could let the raw edge show to add nearly 4" to the length (just shy of a 33" inseam).
Garment Measurements:
(shown on 6-foot tall, skinny Delphine)
waist (at top buttons): 32"/81.25cm
high hip (at lower buttons): 36"/91.5cm
low hip (across seat, more or less): 42"/106.5cm
inseam: currently 29"/73.5cm with a <4"/10cm hem to let down
outseam: currently 42"/106.5cm with a <4"/10cm hem to let down
front rise: 14"/35.5cm
