Professional Game Used Baseball Bat
Details:
* Light Game Use Evident
* 1980-1983 Era Center Brand Style
* 1976-1986 Barrel Brand Style
The overlapping style timelines for the Center Brand and the Barrel Branding define the parameters of the bat to be between 1980 and 1983. The bat was acquired in Baltimore, making the time frame a little narrower, as DeCinces played for the O's from 1974 thru 1981, during which time he wore #11. From 1982 thru 1987 Doug played for the California Angels, also wearing #11.
* 35" Long
* 35.6 Ounces
* Bat Model #C243 on knob
* Doug DeCinces in Script Factory Burned-In, Name on Barrel
* Ball marks.
* Cleat marks.
* Light pine tar on the handle.
this may sound confusing, but it's not...
* DeCince's teammate Rich Dauer's faded uniform #25 is under DeCinces' #11 the knob. (Dauer and DeCinces both used identical looking 35 inch 2-tone Louisville Sluggers in the late 1970's and early 1980's, so it's likely Dauer mistakenly put his number 25 on DeCince's bat, only to have DeCinces put his #11 over it. I say this because I also have a Dauer bat with DeCinces' #11 on the knob. Oddly enough, Dauer and DeCinces are BOTH Baltimore Orioles Hall of Famers from the 1979 American League Championship team.)
DeCinces had a very productive 15 year MLB career, 9 years with the O's, nearly 5 years with the Angels, a cup of coffee with the St Louis Cardinals.
This Doug DeCinces bat has great eye-appeal. It'll make a wonderful addition to your collection.
It's real. It's real nice.
