* Normally closed (NC) thermal switch means that the contacts of thermal switch normally remain closed. When temperature increases to the set value, the contacts would open and cut the circuit OFF.

* Normally opened (NO) thermal switch means that the contacts of thermal switch normally remain opened. When temperature increases to the set value, the contacts would close and set the circuit ON.

Principle of operation:

The bimetallic plate forms the basis of the thermostat construction, i.e. a joint of two different metals. As is known, metals expand when heated. One layer of the plate is made of a metal that strongly changes its size when heated. For the other layer, a material with very low temperature expansion is chosen. As a result, when heated, the plate bends and opens or closes (opens for NC, closes for NO) the thermostat contact.

Temperature Switches are the industry standard precision ± 5 degrees, which is because it is a mechanical temperature switch.

For example:

1. NC 50 C have its normally closed temperature range up to 45-55 degrees, then it is disconnected

at a temperature not more than 55 degrees. This is the opening (Action) temperature. Temperature is needed for a time-consuming process, generally 30-60 seconds at temperature sufficient to feel the temperature effect. When NC switch is already in the opened temperature (temperature higher of Action temperature), it will remain opened until the temperature become lower then the Reset temperature, that in our example is 25-45 degrees.

2. NO 40 C have its normally opened temperature range up to 35-45 degrees, then it is connected

at a temperature not more than 45 degrees. This is the closing (Action) temperature. Temperature is needed for a time-consuming process, generally 30-60 seconds at temperature sufficient to feel the temperature effect. When NO switch is already in the closed temperature (temperature higher of Action temperature), it will remain closed until the temperature become lower then the Reset temperature, that in our example is 15-35 degrees.

There are analog bimetal switches and they have a hysteresis.

"Hysteresis is common in temperature sensors because the material doing the sensing takes time to heat or cool. This time lag results in a different temperature value if the sensor is heating or cooling."
There is a lag of 15°C, Between Action Temperature and Reset Temperature and each Action and Reset temperature has 5°C accuracy in temperature.

Precautions for use:

2. This product is not suitable for use in the air temperature, only for contact temperature!

(Can be fixed by tie wire, iron wire, fixing seat or 704 silicone rubber).

3. The metal case is charged, not suitable for working in water.

4. When the product is installed, the temperature control switch should be located close to the mounting surface of the controlled appliance.

So as not to be sensitive to temperature.
