Coats DABOND industrial sewing thread
Coats Dabond is a bonded, twisted continuous filament, UV resistant polyester thread.
Dabond is most notably used in the manufacturing of sports goods and outdoor applications. Unlike conventional polyester bonded threads, Dabond has exceptional bond cohesion, giving it excellent sewing properties even in the toughest of conditions.
The Dabond polyester machine sewing thread from COATS offers all the advantages for the modern sailmaker. Dabond is designed to withstand extreme weather conditions and therefore has excellent UV and abrasion protection. Dabond is mainly used in making sails and other outdoor applications where high demands are placed on the stitching.
Dabond has a high tensile strength and an evenly controlled elongation. Due to the bonded property, high speed stitching is possible, Dabond does not melt when the needle is heated. Dabond is abrasion resistant, UV stabilized, resistant to seawater and mold.
