Edward Hugh Sothern (1859-1933) actor and author, was the son of actor Edward Askew Sothern. Born in New Orleans and educated in London, Edward Hugh Sothern made his first appearance on stage in New York September 8, 1879, as the cabman in "Brother Sam", a play in which his father was also appearing.
