     Q & A

    Do you sell aloe vera DMSO gel?  A: No, we don't recommend it because it needs to have a preservative to stop the aloe going off. The  preservative gets taken in to your body with the DMSO. Best to use DMSO as is or make your own fresh from an aloe plant.

      What is the shelf life of DMSO? A: DMSO is stable at temperatures up to 150°C so it lasts for many years. Undiluted DMSO is hydrophilic, so it will absorb moisture from the atmosphere and after about 2 years it cannot be considered undiluted and therefore has a use by date. For most applications DMSO needs to be diluted anyway so use-by or expiry is not an issue.

      Why 70% concentration?  A: DMSO is highly hydrophilic (has an affinity for water) and if placed on the body it will extract water from cells until the DMSO is at a 70% concentration.
