Up for sale is this delightful Used
Commemorative, Great Britain #180, the carmine rose Five Shillings (5/) Britannia Rule the Waves issue of 1919.
At left, #180 features a bust portrait of
King George V. In the central vignette
is a rendering of Britannia, in battle regalia and chariot, being drawn across a
rough sea by three horses. The stamp,
printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson Printing Co., is perforated 11x12 on paper with
watermark #34. The height of the frame
is 22¾ mm.
Current Scott Catalogue retail value for a Used GB #180 is $115.00
Condition: This stamp is postally used. There are some soiled spots on the face, and some short perfs. Centering is Fine/Very Fine (F/VF). The color is rich, the impression sharp and clear. Please see scans above.
An attractive, desirable, and reasonably scarce stamp, missing
from most collections. Priced to sell,
