The Khaen comes in several varieties: Khaen hok (แคนหก, hok meaning "six") - small khaen 

with 12 pipes in two rows of 6  ; usually used by children 

The Khaen 6 instrument has only 5 playable notes, while the remaining reeds are not used during playing. 

However, it is still capable of producing beautiful melodies, as demonstrated in the video and 

can also make for an impressive souvenir from Thailand.
