You will not need to take apart your tub to get to this part, unplug the washer, remove the top, remove the control panel, remove the screws holding the top of the front panel in, pull the face of the front panel toward you then pull up to remove, then remove the three electrical connections, next using a socket wrench unscrew the nut in the middle, then work the element back and fourth (there is an expanded rubber membrane that relaxes when the nut is removed) until it will come out.

This was removed from my washer Maytag MAH8700AWW, it is confirmed working (the drum of my washer is damaged and not repairable so I am salvaging the useful components). Please understand that there are those out there who will purchase a component then claim it is defective and return their original broken part. This is very frustrating and costly (not only does one lose the part and the time that it took to harvest the part, but charges for roundtrip shipping are also assessed). I will take my components back, however for electronic components, the serial number stickers and any seals that I have installed will need to be attached and in the same condition as shown in the listing pictures. Additionally the electronic components have markings on them that show in the listing pictures which must match. Obviously the item must be received in the same general condition as when sent.
