This beautiful hat tree has been in our family since the 1940's and in a house built in 1878. This piece may have always belonged to this house, or possibly passed down from my great, great grandfather who had a big ornate house. It is made of walnut and has beautiful details and workmanship. I doubt this was made in a factory, more likely a regional cabinet or furniture maker from Illinois/Indiana.

I believe it may have been refinished at one point, as the mirror has some traces of shellac on it. The silver coating on the mirror needs to be redone. It is a flat mirror, not a beveled one. Another indicator that is not factory made. There is one area below the mirror when the wood has split a bit. Not surprising given its age.

The piece is 90-inches tall, 31-inches wide and 16-inches deep. Our house has 12-foot ceiling, so it leads me to believe that this piece has always been here.

The umbrella rests are cast iron. There is also a glove drawer. All of the hat pegs are hand turned and intact. It is a true piece of wood craftsmanship art.

The buyer must take responsibility for packing and removing this piece. It does not come apart, so it will need to be moved in one piece. Please message me if you want additional photos, inspect it or any other information I might offer.
