another Lee's Speed Shop exclusive

If your pushrod tube cork seals need to be replaced there is a good chance that the springs inside of them are also rusty and/or have lost some of their pressure (which can result in leaks). If you're going to the trouble of replacing the corks, you may want to consider replacing the springs and washers as well.  If so, this is just the kit you need. It contains modern silicone rubber seals of the same dimensions as the original corks.  These have the advantage of not drying out like the cork seals that they replace. Fits Harley Davidson Knuckleheads (all years) and Iron Head Sportster engines from 1957 to early 1979.

Kit consists of:

12 each part # 17955-36 top, center, & bottom seal

4 each part # 17947-36 springs

4 each part # 6762B center washer

Bonus! 4 each part # 11132 o-ring (see note below)

(part numbers given for reference only)

NOTE - It has recently come to my attention that there may be an issue with both cork seals and their silicone counterparts fitting inside the center spring cover of your pushrod tubes.  Sometimes the outer diameter of the cork or seal will be too large to fit into the cup shaped cover, and even if one can force it in, the assembly will be too tight to telescope properly.  Through further research, I have found that there is a difference in the inner diameter of the spring cup based on year groups.  It would appear that the I.D. of Knucklehead and Panhead cups measure .930-inch, early Shovelheads .950”, and that late Shovelheads as well as most reproduction covers measure .990”. I have not found a source for either corks or silicone rubber seals that have a smaller diameter to fit the smaller cups, so my solution is to provide 11132 o-rings to go in the center position.  These are the same o-rings that factory Shovelheads and Evolution engines use in that position and will work just as well in the earlier covers. In order to supply kits that cover multiple possible combinations of parts, I have chosen to include both corks and o-rings for that position in the kits I offer for sale. Note that o-ring colors may vary from what is shown in picture.

Shipping costs are beyond my control.  I weigh the parts and try to select the most reasonable shipping methods based on size and weight, and when possible offer a couple options.  I do not add a handling charge, nor do I attempt to make a profit on the shipping.

As always, these parts are available for inspection and for local pickup (to avoid shipping costs) at Lee's Speed Shop, 8320 Co. Rd. 52, Carver MN
