What is a Drover??  A person who drives livestock, namely cattle, goats, and sheep. A jolly drover has become synonymous with a tavern inn throughout Great Britain.

This very fun ( and seldom seen) whimsey biscuit jar was purchased in the English countryside while antiquing in 1972.  It was considered vintage at that time. It is in lovely condition with a very sturdy whicker handle.  It is not hand painted, but rather applied transferware.  The canister is free from all chips, nicks, repairs .... and all the other words that describe damage. The lid rim is also free from blemishes.  A biscuit jar is smaller than a traditional American cookie jar; but your little jelly center cookies, or your favorite shortbread, or powdered sugar tea cakes will be right at home!
