Roberto Lupetti (1918 - 1997): An Italian born artist who was trained in the classical methods.  Lupetti studied at the prestigious Brera Liceo Artistico with a focus on the Renaissance painters.  While at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, he was offered a position to help restore the Sistine Chapel, which led the way to more restorations of the great masters.  But he also had a career as a successful solo artist too, and his artworks continue to attract critics and collectors alike today.
