Helichrysum Flower Dried herb (Helichrysum Arenarium (L.) Moench) is a plant intended for the health of the liver, gallbladder and bile ducts. It also has a good effect on digestion and bowel function. Thanks to the essential oil, the flowers of the helichrysum smell beautifully even after drying, and crushed and placed in a material bag in the wardrobe or kitchen cabinets will help scare away moths. The generic name Helichrysum refers to the characteristic colour of the flowers of this plant and was created from the combination of two Greek words: helios, meaning sun, and chrysos, i.e. gold.
Helichrysum has spread in Europe and Siberia and is one of the most popular herbs used in Russia. She was formerly called the herb of immortality there. Russian legends say that the one who finds a Helichrysum with blue flowers will live forever. Helichrysum was also known to the ancient Romans, who were the first to appreciate its fragrance and discovered that it effectively wards away moths. In folk medicine, this plant has been present since the Middle Ages and was used in the past for all diseases of the liver and biliary tract.
