Available for your purchase today is an original, 24 inches wide by 36 inches tall, acrylic painting on canvas by comic creator Aaron Warner featuring a parody of David Mazzucchelli's iconic Daredevil pose from the cover of Marvel Age issue #36, seen here in the posted photos. The comic book is not included in this auction for the painting only. This painting was completed in 1990 and has hung in several art exhibits featuring Warner's critically acclaimed art and comic creations. His signature is seen on the back of the frame, along with an exhibit identification sticker. The colors are very bright and the painting has a "Pop Art" appeal. Many comic fans will appreciate the humor of Daredevil actually seeing anything, or implying he has been "faking" all these years as we now see what he does in his "off" time...and that would be "Unexpected," which is the title of this painting. This is #5 from a series of ten Warner created in 1990 for an exhibit of parodied comic covers. His tenth painting of this series won the grand prize award for one Mid-Michigan show, as detailed in the attached news article which is not included with this auction.

After this painting was completed, Warner went on to create a number of syndicated newspaper comic strips, including Adventures of Aaron and A College Girl Named Joe among others, before creating comics with Image and other publishers.
