The Court of the Lions in the Alhambra is part of this magnificent palace and castle complex. It was built during the Moorish period, and has many fine examples of Moorish art. The court measures 35 by 20 metres and has a fountain carried by 12 lions. The Alhambra was declared a UNESCOWorld Heritage Site in 1984. This coin is the second in the Spanish World Heritage series.
In the center of the coin the fountain and part of the colonnades are visible. At the bottom the name of the country and the year are written, and at the top right the Mintmark. The rim has the twelve stars of the EU.
