My Pledge to you, I will treat you like I want to be treated. Thank you for your interest in this beautiful Mako fossil. If you have any inquiries regarding this or any of my other auctions please feel free to contact me.

This is a stunning Mako shark tooth pendant. The tooth is from a giant Mako I think.
Its a nice natural tooth which means the appearance is more basic in colour but in come cases more complex in design.
The is a nick on the bottom right part of the tip which could be filled with some kind of bond if one is so willing.

The rest of this tooth is fine.

The top of the tooth ahs been capped with pure silver.
There are a total of six V's printed on the face of the bezel and a beautiful peice of amethyst has been set in the center postion. The stone is a deep violet emanating beauty.
An eagle is perched a top two rings set central.

This is a brilliant pendant and would be a very attractive fashionable piece.
If you want to impress in a different way, this is how.

Measurements:
I have measured the tooth
From the left and right slant
And the widest section of the tooth
Being the width.

L= 69.65 mm
W= 37.41mm

Information about the Megalodon.

~The Carcharodon Megalodon is a huge prehistoric shark that is said to of lived in the Pleistocene period

(18 million to 3 million years). The shark was the greatest and largest macro-predatory fish of all time.

The exact size of the shark is unknown, but estimations of up to 20 meters have been discovered.

Judging by scientific examination, the shark is said to look somewhat like a great white (Carcharodon Charcarias.).

This would make sense seeing the Megalodon is a direct ancestor to the Great white. All this is scientific study that is eligible to be flawed.

--

To put it simple, this is the scariest shark that ever lived.

Photography:
I take photos of each individual tooth from multiple angles. This is so you are able to determine the quality of the fossil you are buying.

I attempt to get as much of the tooth in direct sunlight as possible, this brings out details not seen in shadow shots. This will also allow you to fully appreciate the fossil and make a better decision on purchasing. I use a 16mp Nikon in order to optimize photos as much as possible. I take these necessary steps in order to make you and happy and decrease error as much as possible.

The anatomy of the shark tooth:
The root of a tooth is located at the top ( upper jaw shark tooth) and at the bottom ( lower jaw shark tooth ) shark tooth. The root has two lobes which are the far right and left of the root.
Directly under the root is a bourlette, this line divides the root from the crown.
The crown is the majority of the tooth and it is the exposed part of a living shark and is always coated in enamel, The crown sometimes has fine serrations and they are lined on its left and right edges, the bottom of the tooth is often reffered to as the tip.

An upper Shark tooth is more of a triangular shape where as a lower shark tooth is often thinner with a V shaped root. The principle shark teeth are well shaped teeth found at the front of a sharks mouth. Posterior teeth can widen in shape and are found further back in a shark jaw. Sometimes these teeth become extremely wide and short.

Are these teeth genuine?

Measurement:

I have measured the teeth using the imperial method which is inches. The teeth can be anywhere from 1 - 6 inch. Each inch is divided by 16 increments which I represent with one simple number out of sixteen, eg : 3 8 (/16's) or sometimes I may use 1/4 = 4/16ths -  1/2 = 8/16ths or 3/4 = 12/16ths. 5 7 = 5 inches 7/16ths.
This is not a product from an endangered or protected species, neither does it come from a live animal.
