PHILIP LYNOTT PORTRAIT By Jim FitzPatrick
Philip Lynott Portrait Print. This is my all-time favorite portrait of Philip -and Philip loved it too. The very tight pencil drawing was originally prepared for the man himself for an illustrated book of his lyrics.
THE STORY OF THE DRAWING
——————————————
This is my all-time favorite portrait of Philip -and Philip loved it too. The very tight pencil drawing was originally prepared for the man himself for an illustrated book of his lyrics. Philip had a real love of poetry and for all the macho stuff he used as a distraction he was easily hurt. I tried to portray this sensitivity in this portrait. A painted version of this work was also used on the cover of the Decca album, ‘Saga of the Ageing Vagabonds’.
The original artwork is quite a small and detailed work, about 8”x10”, so the print really shows it properly -and does it justice.
