Offered here is a 2026-W Enduring Liberty half dollar with the special 9-11-01 “ALWAYS REMEMBER” privy mark. West Point struck only 2,983 of them, one for each name on the National September 11 Memorial. It’s one of the most meaningful U.S. coins of the 250th-anniversary year.

Grade: Our grade estimate is Brilliant Uncirculated. It was graded in-house and is not certified. The fields are bright and fully lustrous, and the hair, the crown rays and the torch are sharply struck, with no wear on either side. There are light field marks typical of a business strike. Please see the photos.

Historical context: The U.S. Mint struck 2,983 of these West Point halves and gave them to the National 9/11 Memorial & Museum on August 21, 2026. The number matches the names on the Memorial, which honors those lost on September 11, 2001, and in the February 26, 1993 World Trade Center bombing. “ALWAYS REMEMBER” is the same phrase the Mint used on its 2011 September 11 National Medal. The Mint has announced no public sale of this issue.

Series: The Enduring Liberty half dollar replaced the Kennedy portrait for 2026 only, the first change to the half dollar design since 1964. Donna Weaver’s close-up of the Statue of Liberty faces the future, and Beth Zaiken’s reverse shows the torch handed to the next generation. The Philadelphia “NEVER FORGET” privy version was sold to the public in rolls and bags. The West Point “ALWAYS REMEMBER” coin is the low-mintage issue.
