A cast brass oval belt buckle made for the San Francisco Museum of Art Soapbox Derby, the 1975 event where Bay Area artists built and raced sculptural soapbox cars. The front shows a mounted rider with banner under the raised lettering SAN FRANCISCO MUSEUM OF ART SOAPBOX DERBY.

The back is hand-signed, dated (c) 1975 and numbered 26/35, making this a small limited edition, with a stamped mark near the bar. Dark patina with brass high points.

A rare piece of Bay Area art history.
