Antique Porcelain Victorian Cat w/ Cinch Sack Fairing Spill Vase, Germany? EUC/VGC
Wonderful antique porcelain fairing spill vase of a cat with bow and ribbon cinched sack with hand-painted green and gold accents... has a Staffordshire look on the face. Spill vases were historically used to hold wooden lighting spills for fireplaces, though today they are collected as decorative Victorian figural porcelain.  Measures 3 ½” x 2 ¾”. Looks to be unmarked (which is common for many German fairings produced circa 1880–1900) except for #217 on base...possibly a mark on the side. Exactly as found & pictured, few tiny chips (rim and tip of cat ear on left if facing piece) and some paint loss from age/use...see all photos for specifics.
