The Believe Gene

by Sally Ramsey

Sometimes It's What's Not on a Label That's Important...
Mary Taxtrum is on a mission. After her son Chester commits a heinous crime based on lies and rhetoric he's been fed for years, Mary searches for answers to her son's erratic behavior. Armed with the name of a harmful chemical, a DNA sample, and the support of a friend, Mary delves into the world of big manufacturing and pharmaceuticals, desperate to find anything to explain the mental defects her son suffers from.
As her search comes to a head, Mary finds herself playing on both sides of a fierce political fight for power. She'll do anything to help her son and potentially millions of more children around the world, because nothing is more powerful than a mother's love, and a good cherry pie.
