Twins Duke Edinburgh Gold Award Buckingham Palace 1972 VTG Photo
This is a silver gelatin photograph that is unmounted and is 7½ x 10 inches (193x252mm).
It shows a large group of young men and women arranged on a set of stone steps indoors. They are holding large certificates, and several individuals are wearing uniforms, including two men in police helmets at the top.
The reverse has a green typed caption slip titled 'Eight Golden Doubles at the Palace' and dated 'December 20th 1972'. The caption identifies the group as eight sets of twins with their newly-presented Duke of Edinburgh Gold Awards at Buckingham Palace. It lists the individuals as Jillian and Lesley Smith, James and Michael Wild, Gail and David Pearce, Richard and Michael Marshall, Cynthia and Marion Finn, Patricia and Jean Payne, Jill and Jane Raworth, and Christine and Caroline Mead. The back also features a stamp reading 'Please Return T.V. Times Picture Library', a credit for 'Press Association Photos', and a handwritten note 'GEN - MEDALS + AWARDS'.
