Up for sale is a complete authentic set of 16 vintage New York City Police Department (NYPD) uniform buttons, salvaged from a damaged period jacket. All buttons were manufactured by the renowned Waterbury Button Co. Conn., featuring their official hallmark stamped clearly on the back.
The face of each brass button beautifully displays the official Seal of the City of New York with the historic Latin inscription: "SIGILLUM CIVITATIS NOVI EBORACI 1664".
