Offered for your consideration is a vintage GEORGE DIAMOND Charcoal Broiled Steaks ceramic ashtray, USA-made by Royal China c.1960. GEORGE DIAMOND was a noteworthy steakhouse franchise from the 1940’s through 1980’s.
DIAMOND had restaurants, at various times, in Chicago, Milwaukee, Antioch, IL, Whiting, IN, Palm Springs, Las Vegas, and even Acapulco. The Antioch and Palm Springs locations were at a GEORGE DIAMOND 18-hole golf course and a GEORGE DIAMOND Hotel, respectively, so this was quite a business empire for many years.
Please see my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this GEORGE DIAMOND ashtray should be yours.

This GEORGE DIAMOND ashtray is in clean, very good condition. It measures 5⅜” in diameter by ¾” high with 3¼” bowl diameter. There are no chips or cracks noted, but there are several manufacturing blemishes: a raised bump next to CALIF, two minor edge depressions adjacent to WHITING, and three faint but tactile casting dots on the underside, all as pictured.
Plus, the striking gold lettering—“warranted” as 22K gold by the maker—is in great shape with, amazingly, no wear except on the bottom. And, there was no soot or tar residue in the cradles/bowl, even before it was washed, leading me to believe it didn’t see much use before going home with some customer many years ago. Overall, this fine relic from the bygone days of supper club steakhouses presents exceptionally well.
