A tonearm engineered to minimize the effective mass at the arm tip. It employs a precision mechanism along with a hard, lightweight alloy pipe arm and a dedicated headshell made of hard resin. By achieving weight reduction through these measures, the effective mass is kept low while ensuring the cutoff frequency does not become too low, preventing the stylus from vibrating violently when the tonearm cannot keep up with record warps and other irregularities.
Furthermore, to prevent the partial resonances that can occur when mechanical strength is weakened by weight reduction, both material selection and processing treatments were carefully examined, and DENON's proprietary Dynamic Damping Mechanism has been adopted. This effectively suppresses vibrations transmitted from the arm base and significantly reduces partial resonances in each component of the arm.
The tonearm is equipped with a non-contact anti-skating mechanism that continuously provides the appropriate cancellation force corresponding to the tonearm's position. It also features a stylus pressure adjustment mechanism with 0.1g step graduations for easy direct reading. A low-capacitance (40 pF/m) output cable is used so as not to affect wideband playback. All electrical contact points use gold-plated terminals, prioritizing reliability and stability.
