Vintage Japanese SUKETADA “助忠” Tsuki Nomi Chisels – 2 Piece Set
This is a set of two vintage Japanese woodworking chisels bearing the traditional 助忠 (SUKETADA) mark.
These are long-handled Japanese chisels, most likely Tsuki Nomi (Japanese slick / paring chisels), designed primarily to be pushed by hand rather than struck heavily with a hammer.
The long handles and extended necks provide excellent control and leverage when paring and finishing large wooden joints, making this style particularly useful for traditional Japanese carpentry and timber framing.
An original old SUKETADA / 助忠 trade label also remains with the tools.
The label includes “TRADE MARK” and old Japanese wording indicating a high-grade, quality-guaranteed product.
