I'm not sure exactly what this item was used for. It's inscribed "TO GENERAL RIDGELY GAITHER THE GRENADIERS ARE ON HAND" Silver plated handle and tip. Has 3 stars adorned with pearls. Wood shaft with silver plated rings. Came from the Generals house in the early 90s after his death. It was givin to a man who helped with the cleanout and liquidation of general Gaithers estate. Absolutely 1 of a kind piece. Comes with the original leather holder.
