BACKGROUND - The Farmers Bank of Bucks County, operated out of Hulmeville, Pennsylvania and issued obsolete currency around 1810. Following Pennsylvania's 1817 ban on small-denomination bank notes under $5, these unused remainder notes were stored and later rediscovered allowing collectors to find very affordable notes in the marketplace. The supply of uncut sheets is dwindling however since so many of the notes have been cut and offered for sale individually to collectors.
