The 1950 Zenith Micro-Adapter is a rare phono attachment designed to let older 78 RPM Zenith Cobra-equipped record players play 7-inch 33.3 and 45 RPM records.
How It Works
- Connection: The adapter plugs directly into the tone arm socket where the original Zenith Cobra needle went.
Placement: It sits on the turntable platter and spindle, stabilized by rubber feet while one end hangs off the edge.
Speed Conversion: An idler wheel rests on the spinning 78 RPM main platter to drive the adapter's internal mechanism, allowing a switch to gear the speed down for 45 or 33.3 RPM records.
Audio System: It features its own miniature Cobra tone arm and cartridge that routes audio through the main record player's system with light needle pressure.
