This is a silver gelatin photograph that is unmounted and is 8 x 6 inches (205x154mm).

It shows a high-angle, panoramic photograph of Cairo, Egypt, looking across the River Nile. In the centre of the image, on Gezira Island, is the large, curved Sheraton Cairo Hotel & Casino. The tall, slender form of the Cairo Tower is visible in the background.

The foreground shows the lush greenery of Gezira Island and a road running along the riverbank. The reverse of the photograph has a pasted paper caption which reads: "Views of Egypt: CAIRO Capital City of the United Arab Republic, with a population of 3 1/2 million.

Situated on the River Nile, it is the main commercial and administrative centre of Egypt. Please acknowledge: Photograph by KEN LAMBERT CAMERA PRESS LONDON 25130-16 (07)". There are two ink stamps. One reads: "COPYRIGHT CAMERA PRESS LTD.RUSSELL COURT, CORAM STREET, LONDON, W.C.1. TERMINUS 4488 & 0393". A larger, angled stamp reads: "PLEASE RETURN T.V. TIMES PICTURE LIBRARY". A handwritten annotation at the bottom in blue ink says "AFRICA NORTH - EGYPT - CAIRO".
