Here we have a lovely Vintage, 700c Road Touring Bike Wheelset with Suntour Hubs, matching Skewers & Alesa 917 Alloy Rims.

The Alesa rims seem to have had minimal use… there is some staining on one of the rims from brake pad residue but when a straight edge is held against them there is no sign of concaveness at all… in fact they are perfectly flat.

Alesa 917 rims are highly regarded Belgian-made, double-walled, and double-eyeletted rims and are legendary for being "indestructible.” They are therefore ideal for heavy-duty 700c road touring setups or bulletproof retro gravel builds. Outer rim width approx 23mm, internal rim width 16mm.

The rims are laced to Suntour Hubs which have a date code of HB which corresponds to the year 1991. Both spin very true and the bearings feel nice and smooth with no grittiness. Prior to strip down the rear had a

Front spacing 100mm, 126 rear spacing.

Ive taken a lot of pictures so please zoom in on them to get a better appreciation of the wheels condition.

Prior to sale the Wheelset has been cleaned and degreased and are now ready to fit.

Overall a nice vintage wheelset which would make a great addition to a period bike build.
