This vintage traditional archery collection belonged to my late father-in-law and was found entirely intact in long-term dry storage.The bow is a 1953 Bear Archery Grizzly static recurve, 62 inches long with a 55-pound draw weight and serial number GA900. It features the yellow silk-screened "Running Bear" Grayling, Michigan logo, red-orange fiberglass backing, original leather grip, and 1953 patent stamps. The limbs are visually straight. A vintage string is included and installed as found. Due to the age of the item, professional inspection and proper restringing are required prior to any operational use or drawing.The quiver is a genuine Bear Archery Co. leather back quiver featuring an embossed Native American hunter in a canoe design. It has a sewn-on vintage "Amsterdam Archers" club patch and includes the original adjustable leather shoulder strap with brass hardware. The leather is supple with intact factory stitching and no dry rot.The arrow inventory consists of 16 total vintage cedar and composite arrows. This includes the original Phillips Archery Company box from East Tawas, Michigan, with the interior cardboard insert. Inside the box are 9 select 28-inch Port Orford Cedar wood shafts with red-dipped shaftments, each fitted with a matching vintage vented Bear Razorhead glue-on hunting broadhead. The remaining arrows include 3 cedar shafts with maroon cresting and field points, 3 cedar shafts with orange/yellow cresting and small-game blunt points, and 1 solid white vintage shaft with an early mechanical swing-blade expanding broadhead. All shafts are straight and metal tips are very good. The original turkey feather fletchings show wear, fraying, and splitting from historical use. Two leather armguards are included.
