Royal Standard "Bonnie Scotland" Side Plate (bread & butter plate) - Clan MacDonald.
The plate has a MacDonald clan crest on the border featuring an armoured hand holding a cross, atop a coronet crown, with the motto "Per Mare Per Terras" (by sea and land), beside which "Clan MacDonald" is printed in red (see 1st & 2nd photos). There are sprigs of heather around the remainder of the border (see 3rd & 4th photos). The plate was produced by Royal Stafford in Staffordshire, England.
The plate measures 16.3cm (6 1/2") dia., 1.9cm (5/8") height.
The plate is in good condition with no chips, no cracks, no hairline fractures, no repairs, no crazing, no stains, minimal pattern wear and minimal scratching to the glaze.
The base of the plate is backstamped (see 5th & 6th photos) "Bonnie Scotland, Royal Standard, Fine bone china, England".
