Royal 22e Regiment Cap Badge
KC Beaver Van Doos Je me souviens 63mm

Looked over in hand. This is a King’s Crown cap badge of the Royal 22e Régiment — the Van Doos — the Regular Force French-language infantry regiment based at the Citadelle in Québec. Cast beaver on the log, annulus RÉGIMENT CANADIEN FRANÇAIS, 1868 arms of Québec in the centre, numeral 22, scroll JE ME SOUVIENS, Tudor / King’s Crown on top. That crown dates the pattern to the George VI period (roughly 1937–1952), before the Queen’s Crown change.

The 22nd Battalion CEF was raised in 1914; the regiment took the Royal title in 1921. Nickname Van Doos is just English ears hearing “vingt-deux.” This piece is the larger format — 63 mm wide by 52 mm high, 19.9 g — bigger and heavier than a standard beret badge, the size people call a busby / dress-cap striking. Reverse has a pin bar (not a slider lug). No maker name visible on the back.

Brass with remaining gilt in the recesses. Crown, beaver, and motto are complete. No cracks, no missing crown arches, pin present. Honest wear on the high gilt, nothing broken. Excellent used.

Other Canadian badges and Québec militaria go in the store when we get them. Message before payment if you want more than one badge combined.

Look at both sides in the photos. They are part of the listing.
