This is a Kenko C-AF 2X Teleplus MC4 AF DG Teleconverter for Canon EF-mount SLRs and DSLRs. It is NOT suitable for EFs lenses (designed for APS-C format sensors only) because the protruding rear of these lenses does not let them fit into it, but it can be used on APS-C bodies provided that the lens is suitable for full-frame. I'm supplying it with its original caps and a cloth storage bag. It's clean with little or no internal dust and no fungus or damage to the glass.
Buyers should be aware that telephoto converters work best with standard to moderate telephoto prime lenses, and poorly with wide angle lenses and some zooms. They reduce the amount of light reaching the film/sensor - usually two stops or so for a x2 teleconverter - and may soften images and reduce contrast. I strongly recommend using a lens hood for best results.
I tested it on a Canon Eos 600D using a 50mm f1.8 EF lens with the camera in programmed mode, ISO 800. Weather was a dull afternoon. The pictures with the converter were taken a minute or so after the ones without it, but there wasn't much variation in lighting.
Church (230 yards) - 1/640th f9 without the converter, 1/400th f7.1 with converter.
Tree (30 yards) - 1/200th f5 and 1/125th f4
Garden (bird bath 17 yards) - 1/100th f3.5 and 1/60th f2.8
Stone ornament (7ft) - 1/320th f6.3 and 1/200th f5
Plant at end of roof (10 ft) - 1/160th f4.5 and 1/100th f3.5
As usual I'm starting low and with no reserve. See my other listings for more photographic items.
Postage: Following changes in eBay's rules for private sellers all orders for the UK and Channel Islands must now be sent via eBay's new "Simple delivery" system, with postal prices set by eBay.
Combined postage: If you are buying more than one item from me on the same day, DON'T PAY UNTIL ALL THE ITEMS YOU ARE BUYING FROM ME HAVE ENDED, you should receive combined postage automatically when you check out.
Due to these and earlier changes I now use eBay's Global Shipping Program for overseas sales. eBay now seems to be allowing combined postage when this service is used, as above. Please note that eBay must now add VAT and duty to the final price including postage in the EU and some other countries.
