Offered is this unique Civil War heavy (6 ounces!) soldier carved head relic from Camp Davies, home of the 66th Illinois Volunteer Infantry. This unit is famed for their use of the Dimmick Rifles, later replaced by the Henry Rifles. I was looking at this piece thinking it was a beginning carve of an officers Colt revolver barrel tool, or perhaps a tobacco pipe. My wife looked over my shoulder and laughed “you really don’t see it? If it wasn’t bent…”. So while it may be up to interpretation I do now ‘see’ it!

This unique relic would be an excellent addition to your carved, Civil War, MS, pipe, carved *ahem*, or 66th Infantry collection!
