I'm an old teddy, worn with age,
My younger days have left the stage.
I've spent long years now in retreat,
With tired old paws and weary feet
I'm not brand new, nor smart, nor grand,
But once I fitted someone's hand.
And somewhere still, there might just be
A little place that waits for me.
So before the Christmas candles glow,
And winter brings its frost and snow,
I'm hoping someone kind will say:
'Come home, old bear - you're here to stay'.
