Offered for your consideration is a vintage Gillette Knack twist-to-open (TTO) safety razor. This style of Gillette razor—with twist-to-open ring directly under the shave head, instead of at the bottom of the handle—was introduced as the Knack in 1966 and renamed Double-Edge in 1972 according to a trusted shaving-reference website.

This example bears an N2 date code beneath the head which means it was USA-manufactured in the second quarter of 1968.

So, please have a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this splendid Gillette razor should be yours.

This Gillette Knack is in clean, excellent condition. It measures 4¼” long with a shaving head that is 1⅝” wide. There are no dings or scratches on the nickel-chrome finish, just some light usage marks from the years. Plus, the long, dark blue grip-textured handle is also in great shape with just a few tiny nicks, as pictured. Overall, this Gillette razor present very nicely.

Plus, the TTO mechanism opens the doors smoothly and locks down tight. What’s more, I’ve given the razor a good brush washing in very hot water with mild dish soap.  Any additional sterilization or polishing is solely at the new owner’s discretion, but it looks really great as-is!

Lastly, I’m including a package of 10 Gillette Super Blue Blades which are several years older than the razor but essentially period-correct. The outer box had been partly torn on the back side, as pictured, but not enough that the blade dispenser could be removed.

As pictured and described, this outstanding Gillette Knack razor is offered at a competitive price.
