Description
Wal-pex 5 PRO Gold apex locator is an electronic device used in endodontics to determine the position of the apical constriction and thus determine the length of the root canal space.
Exactness:
- Using the latest multi-frequency apical positioning technology, it avoids the influence of subjective factors of measurement results.
- Measuring results are not affected by the tooth type, effects of root canal orifice size, root canal internal environment.
Reliability:
- Real-time display of the file in the root canal.
safe:
- Avoid the traditional measurement of x-ray radiation.
- Avoid overfilling or underfilling.
ADVANTAGES :
- Equipped with Bright LCD with color-coded measurements.
- Displays a clear image.
- Different colors to indicate the file trajectory.
- Advanced multiple frequency network impedance measurement technologies.
- Automatic calibrating ensures that the measurements are accurate, Clinical data shows an increase in the accuracy rate by 97.71%
- High precision of apical foramen localization in wet and dry canals.
- Automatic calibration: Ensures stable and accurate measurements.
- Compact size and stable design allow for excellent flexibility during procedures

Direction to Use
BEFORE USING :
CHARGING :
- Turn the device on by pressing the button, connect the USB cable to the unit power connector, and plug the other end into a power outlet.
- While charging, the battery symbols on the screen.
- Fully charged will take about 4 hours, depending on residual battery power and battery state.
INSTALLATION AND POWER ON - OFF :
- Power button.
- Volume Key.
- Reference Key.
- Insert the measuring wire into the main unit and gently insert it. Make sure to connect properly.
- Insert the lip lock, the file clip or the probe into the two sockets at the other end of the measuring wire.
- Inserting the measuring wire is the same on either side.
OPERATION :
Volume setting :
- Touch the volume button in the panel to select different volume settings, and the modified volume setting will be saved automatically.
SETTING THE REFERENCE POINT :
- Touch⮜ on the device can set the reference point, between 0~1 mm, and the number ''0.0'' - ''0.6''.
- The reference point will be saved automatically.
ACCURACY TEST :
- In the standby state, connect the tester to the device and observe the number displayed on the host.
- If it is 0.2, 0.3 or 0.4, that means the device is working properly.
MAKING A MEASUREMENT :
- Clip the file clip to the metal shaft of the file.
- Press in direction of arrow and clip file, then release to finish the installation.
- Connect the lip hook to the patient's lip.
- Then, connect the file clip to the file which is inserted into the treated root canal.
- The progression of the file into the canal in reference to the apex will be indicated on the display.
- Observing the stripes and numbers indicated on the display while moving the file into the root canal slowly.
- When the file enters into the front region of the apical foramen, stripes are blue.
- The numbers indicate the remaining number of strips before reaching the major apical foramen.
- Stripes become green into the apical zone. The minor and major apical foramina are separated by 7 strips from is reached and the beep will sound continuously.
- When the file tip over the apex, stripes become red and the label ''APEX'' blinks wth a rapid beep.
