Beautiful vintage studio pottery wall plaque by noted ceramic artist Ron Beasom, signature “R. Beasom” featuring a wonderfully whimsical under-the-sea design.

Measuring approximately 12.5” long by 8” wide, this substantial stoneware piece has an organic, asymmetrical shape with impressed details throughout. The ocean scene includes two graceful seahorses, a swimming fish, crab, starfish, scallops, and an assortment of seashells gathered along the bottom.

The textured cream and sandy-toned clay provides a lovely coastal backdrop, while brushed shades of indigo, slate blue, and soft earthy tones create the look of moving ocean water.

Two openings at the top allow the plaque to be hung with cord, twine, ribbon, or wire of your choice.

About the Artist:

Ron Beasom (1931–2024) was an American ceramic artist and longtime art educator who studied at Penn State University, where he earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees. After decades of teaching art and pottery in Pennsylvania, Beasom established his own pottery business and exhibited and sold his handmade ceramics at art shows throughout the Northeast and Florida. He also spent several years teaching pottery aboard Princess Cruise Lines while traveling internationally.
