Morning in Mumbai: Over 5,000 white-clad delivery people swarm out to deliver more than 200,000 “dabbas,” multi-tiered lunch boxes, to the offices of the Indian metropolis.

These “Dabba Wallas” have been an integral part of the cityscape since 1890. The food freshly prepared at home by the family is picked up at the doorstep by the Dabba Wallas. The Dabbas are delivered punctually to offices, some of which are far away, via several intermediate stations with 99.999% reliability.
