Original vintage Radio Shack Super Armatron electronic robotic arm toy featuring the articulated mechanical arm, orange gripping claw, dual joystick controls, energy-level display and rotating base.

PLEASE READ – NOT FULLY WORKING: Batteries were installed for testing. The unit powers on and the internal motor can be heard running, but the robotic arm does not operate properly. This indicates an internal mechanical/drivetrain problem, but the exact failed component has not been diagnosed. It may require repair or replacement of internal gears, clutch/drivetrain components or other parts. It is being sold AS-IS FOR PARTS OR REPAIR and no further functionality is guaranteed.

The battery compartment is present with its original cover. Uses two D-size batteries according to the original labeling; batteries are not included.

This is the Super Armatron rather than the earlier standard Armatron. Radio Shack documentation for the Super Armatron identifies numerous internal gears, clutch/shaft components and a single motor assembly, making these machines interesting restoration projects as well as collectible examples of vintage electronic/mechanical toys. Starborne Works

Cosmetic condition is shown in detail in the photos. There is age-related discoloration/yellowing, surface dirt/dust, scratches, scuffs and label/control-panel wear. The claw and major arm/base components shown are present. No original box, instructions, loose game accessories or batteries are included. Only the Super Armatron unit pictured is included.
