The BMW M3 Touring arrived in 2022 as one of the most anticipated cars in recent memory — the first M3 estate in the model’s history, fulfilling decades of requests from enthusiasts who had always believed that the M3’s combination of driver engagement and daily usability deserved a body capable of carrying more than a weekend bag. The G81 delivered on that promise completely: the S58 twin-turbocharged straight-six produces 510bhp, M xDrive channels it to all four wheels, and the result is an estate car that dispatches the 0–62mph sprint in approximately 3.6 seconds whilst offering the load space and practicality that no M3 coupé or saloon could provide. It is, in the most complete sense, the M3 that does everything.
Isle of Man Green Metallic became the definitive colour of the M3 Touring from the moment BMW revealed the car — a deep, rich green that suits the G81’s long, muscular proportions with an authority that lighter or more neutral colours cannot quite achieve, and which has made green-on-M3-Touring one of the most immediately recognisable combinations in the current performance car landscape. Named with a nod to the Isle of Man TT, the colour carries a motorsport connection that feels entirely appropriate on a car of this character.
