Bogner Snorkler - 50-Watt Tube Amplifier Head

The Snorkler is rooted in the modified Marshall amplifiers that established Reinhold Bogner's reputation in Los Angeles in the late 1980s. The circuit is built around Bogner's proprietary blue preamp board design -- the same circuit architecture that defined the original Snorkler modifications performed on various Marshall platforms during that period. The result is a 50-watt EL34-based head with a dynamic, high-gain character rooted in early British amplifier design.

The front panel offers two voicing modes: blue [crunch] and red [high gain]. The deep switch and bright switch [red mode only] provide additional tonal shaping, while independent bass, middle, treble, and presence controls offer full EQ flexibility. A second gain stage [Gain 2] is active only in red mode, enabling higher saturation levels. The rear panel includes a fully featured effects loop with an integrated noise gate -- adjustable threshold and return level -- and speaker outputs covering 16, 8, and 4 ohm loads.
