Robert Carrier (1923–2006) was an American chef, restaurateur and cookery writer, who had a tremendous influence on helping to introduce a more exotic range of Continental cooking to British cuisine in the 1960s and 1970s. This well-illustrated book about delicious desserts includes traditional British favourites like steamed puddings, bread and butter pudding and apple pie, as well as mouthwatering recipes for hot and cold soufflés, crèpes and flambées.
