This image is a copy of a painting by Brother Simeon Davis for Monastery Icons. The print measures 7 1/2" x 10" and has what is called "lumina gold" in the print"s golden background that emits a shiny golden glow to the picture.
Keep in mind that this Icon print is not attached to any kind of board like most icons are. This is just the print or the picture on heavy, photographic paper.
I have provided 2 pictures for veiw of the subject: a smaller image on a brown background showing you what you will get and a closer up version to see the image more clearly.
Briefly, Saint Teresa of Calcutta(1910-1997) was born in Yugoslavia of Roman Catholic parents. She moved to Ireland to become a nun and later to India where she lived most of her life and carried out her missionary work, establishing the Missionaries of Charity, a religious congregation that is dedicated to serving the "poorest of the poor" in the slums of Calcutta. Her congregation grew to operate in over 133 nations to provide homes for the dying from HIV/AIDS, leprosy, and tuberculosis and serving the poor in many other ways. Now a saint in heaven, she has always been known for many of her later years as an outstanding and admirable holy person throughout the world.
